Who the customer is

Our partner spent years as a working carpenter in Canada before he started selling saw blades. That background matters. He has stood behind a table saw at seven in the morning, cut plywood all day, and felt the difference between a blade that stays sharp and one that starts to burn the edge by lunch.

This year he began supplying blades to the people he used to work alongside: cabinet makers, framers, finish carpenters and small construction crews. His customers trust him because he has done the work himself. So when he went looking for a saw blade manufacturer, he was not shopping for a product. He was shopping for something he could put his own name on.

What he was looking for in a saw blade supplier

He was clear about this from the first message. He did not want the cheapest circular saw blade on the market. He wanted one he could hand to a professional and not worry about.

His checklist, more or less in his own words:

  • Clean, chip-free cuts on sheet goods - plywood, MDF, melamine-faced board.
  • Smooth cut faces on dimensional lumber, no burn marks, no scoring.
  • Sizes and bores that fit the saws his customers already own.
  • A factory, not a trading company. He wanted to deal with the people who actually make the blade.
  • That last point ruled out a lot of suppliers quickly.

Why he chose Nakamura

  • Step one: samples on real projects

After comparing several saw blade suppliers, he asked us for samples. He did not run them on a test bench. He put them on his own jobs in Canada - framing, trim, sheet goods - and used them the way his customers would.

  • Step two: a visit to the factory

While the samples were still in use, he flew to China in April 2026 to see our plant in person. He walked the full production line and watched every one of the 22 steps a Nakamura blade goes through: laser cutting of the plate, tooth grinding, brazing of the carbide tips, tensioning, and final inspection, among others.

He told us afterwards that this was the part that settled it. A supplier can say "we are a manufacturer" in an email. Standing on the shop floor and watching a blade get tensioned is different. It confirmed that the consistency he had seen in the samples came from a controlled process, not from a lucky batch.

That trip turned a supply arrangement into a working partnership. 【Factory & Production Process】

Step three: building a blade range around his customers' saws

We did not push a one-size-fits-all "general purpose" blade on him. Instead we sat down together and mapped out what his customers actually cut, on what machines, and built the range from there.

The core specification we settled on is 160mm*2.2*1.6*50T 【TCT Woodworking Saw Blade Product】

Spec Why it matters on site
160mm Diameter A common size for portable job-site saws and compact table saws used by Canadian trades
2.2mm Kerf A thin kerf removes less material per cut and puts less load on the motor of a portable saw. Less bogging, longer runtime on battery tools.
1.6mm Plate Keeps the blade stable at speed with low vibration, which is what keeps the cut face clean
50 Teeth Fine enough for plywood, MDF and trim, but still cross-cuts framing lumber cleanly without clogging

In plain terms: one blade that a carpenter can leave on the saw for most of the day instead of swapping between a rip blade and a finish blade.

Feedback from the job site

A few months in, our partner sent over photos from his customers' job sites, along with their comments. Every one was positive. His own note was short:

"Using your blades on the job. You can show customers." - Canadian saw blade distributor

He said the blades did exactly what his customers expected: clean cuts, smooth running, and still sharp at the end of a full day. His customers are happy with the results and keep coming back to him for more.

What the photos show

  • A Nakamura blade mounted on a job-site table saw.
  • Blades in use on an outdoor construction project.
  • A Nakamura blade on a sliding miter saw, cutting boards on site.

The site is a covered porch with a timber frame. Structural members, decking and boards were all cut on site, outdoors, in the kind of conditions that find out a weak blade fast. That is the environment our woodworking saw blades are built for. 【Woodworking Saw Blade Series Overview】

From first order to repeat business

  • The partnership started with a sample order and trials on his own projects. Once he was satisfied, he placed a first order of 1,000 blades for resale.
  • He has reordered steadily since. The range has grown from that single 160mm model into a series covering several applications across table saws and sliding miter saws.
    • For us, that is the clearest endorsement a saw blade manufacturer can get. A carpenter who knows blades better than most keeps choosing, order after order, to put his own reputation behind Nakamura.
